Abstract

Polygamous marriage according to religion and Indonesian state law as stipulated in Marriage Law No. 1 of 1974 is a model of marriage that is recognized with applicable terms and conditions. Tauhid is not just a sentence. Tawhid is the foundation of true courage. A Muslim whose monotheism is righteous, he will not be afraid in carrying out all His Shari'ah, even though all mankind rejects it. The purpose of this study is to describe the application of monotheism in polygamous marriage in modern life. This research method is qualitative research with a phenomenological study approach. The results of this study state that the role of monotheism of a person is very decisive in polygamous marriage. Tawheed is a process of pleasing Allah. Polygamy is not only about channeling halal orgasm, but also about the courage to uphold the noble sharia that is hated by many people.
